Diagnals
First off; this isn't a real show. Lately I've been busting my ass with CSS and PHP/MySQL on the new blog I launched so I felt it was time to sit down and stretch my legs in design. My interest lately has been with contrast/color theory and typgraphy. Practicing helps me understand what flows, pops, and cancels other elements out and I felt this piece gave me a better understanding of that. If you'd like to learn more or use this for yourself, feel free to download the PSD below!
The Live Long Day 2
Yet another flier for The Live Long Day, this time in March. I used a dark approach to making this one using a heart from tomledin.com and a cloth texture in the background from textureking.com. I was just getting into the swing of using textures so I was a bit impressed by using cloth instead of rock or metal. This flier only took me 2 hours to make.
The Live Long Day Promo Photo 1
A buddy of mine ran the streets with the band taking photos throughout Bay City for promotional shots. After they were uploaded I was able to get my hands on them and edit some of them to the best of my ability by adding special effects, text, and fixing some of the blemishes in the photo. (The third guy from the left had his eyes closed!) This one took me about 2 hours to play around with after using Photomatix's HDR effects and many brushes I found online.
The Live Long Day Promo Photo 2
The work for this band just keeps flowing. I did this one quickly in about 20 minutes to give the band a image to use on their myspace for promotion. Simple font with a brush in the top right found online and a splatter on the left. The image was not taken by me but I cropped it to create this image. Kudos to who took the photo, it turned out pretty well!
The Live Long Day 1
A flier for The Live Long Day to promote one of their shows back in December of '07. At the time I was really into the new design of the Team Fortress 2 unlockables that were announced along with the style and colors used to show them off. With that in mind I used the orange and grey to contrast the flier. I spent around an hour on this flier.
